About the Formulas

Flesch-Kincaid: Maps readability to US school grade levels based on sentence length and syllable count.

Gunning Fog: Estimates years of education needed, penalizing complex words (3+ syllables).

Coleman-Liau: Uses character count instead of syllables, making it more language-agnostic.

ARI: Based on characters per word and words per sentence, outputting a grade level.
